Shout Out for the Arts’ Programme Manager Amy reflects on what some of our schools have been up to in the last few months.
Arts 4 All!
In March, I loved spending the day at Heathcote Primary School with the Year 6 Arts Ambassadors and their teacher Mrs Lawson who had produced a grand spectacular of an arts festival at their school.
The inspirational showcase included an extraordinary variety of art forms – from a fantastic rendition of Waltzing Matilda (with boom sticks!), to bhangra dancing, to watching clay-creations in the making. Read all about it online.
An amazing mural
I also spent time at Kineton High School where I saw how their fantastic arts project has been developing. I popped in one lunchtime and this is what I saw!

After deciding to work on a mural for their new-build school back in September, the student had designed the mural and worked on templates in their lunchtime art club.
The final graffiti creation was being started under the guidance of street artists Ali Glover and Michael Batchelor.
It looks so amazing already – I can’t wait to see the finished product. Watch this space!
Tour in progress
I have also been hearing all about how students at Avon Valley School are starting to write scripts for their plays – stay tuned as tour dates are to be announced shortly!

I can’t wait to catch up with these students soon to hear more about their projects.
Today I am hearing all about what Moreton Morrell College pupils have been creating – I simply can’t wait to share that with you too.
