Not long to go until our Arts Careers Fairs in Nuneaton and Stratford-upon-Avon. In advance of the event, we want to introduce you to the artists, professionals and companies who you will meet on the day.
When and where?
You will have the opportunity to meet artist Clare Pentlow at the event in Nuneaton.

“You can go into projects with an open mind and be honest if you’re not sure about something. It’s a rollercoaster and we all face obstacles. Nobody is perfect.”

About Clare Pentlow
“I always had an inclination to work with paper and pattern,” says Clare. “I studied Surface Pattern Design at UWTSD in Swansea where I developed my work and learnt new skills, from screen printing to laser cutting.
It was the laser cutting which stuck with her the most. Upon leaving University, she found herself hand-cutting paper and just seeing what happened and what she could create. Hooked on paper cutting and folding, creating ever more intricate designs, she found her niche and stuck with it.
“Whilst I sell my work throughout the UK in galleries and run workshops, it can also be surprising what lands in your inbox,” she tells us. “From projects with Hermes and Lexus to designing a canopy for a bench in Stratford Upon Avon.”
“I have met and continue to meet lots of incredible people along the way This is my journey with paper art and I am enjoying where it takes me.”

What to expect at the fairs
“I always talk about the possibilities of paper,” says Clare.
For her talk at our careers fair she will discuss the possibilities of a career in the creative industries. “The many different pathways you can take from being passionate about creativity and the arts,” she explains.

“I will talk about how you can go into projects with an open mind and be honest if you’re not sure about something. It’s a rollercoaster and we all face obstacles. Nobody is perfect.”
“I am hoping to give a taster of how such a simple thing like paper can lead to opportunities, meeting different people and working on projects across the UK. It is also continual learning experience.”

Meet Clare and many other established artists, this February. Reserve your spot online today.
